Blakeney, Hindringham and Walsingham eel release

On Monday 4th July the Pilgrim Federation schools joined us for their eel release.

We had KS1 join us in the morning for story time about “The journey of Elvis the Eel” followed by some kick sampling and invertebrate identification and rounded off by making some eel pegs to remind them of the charismatic eels they raised in their school.

KS2 joined us for the afternoon where they spent their time in the river kick sampling, identifying and creating food chains to learn all about the aquatic habitat needed for European Eels and their food source as well as the biodiversity around the river habitat.
