Risk and opportunity mapping
North West Norfolk
Click on the top left arrow to toggle between layers, including:
- Nitrate Vulnerable Zones; and
- SciMap (diffuse pollution risk mapping): Surface flow (blue = greatest risk; yellow/red = least risk), erosion risk (red = greatest risk; blue = least risk) and channel accumulated risk (red = greatest risk of sediment; blue = least).
SciMap can be used as a guide to identify where pollution is most likely to originate from, and whether there is a risk that this pollution might enter watercourses via hydrological connectivity. This information can then be used to determine where to look at or mitigate first.
Please note, these maps are based on modelling and should be accompanied with on-ground knowledge and walkovers.
