Saving Norfolk’s Natives – The white-clawed crayfish
Tuesday October 31st, 2023
“The white-clawed crayfish still remains vastly unknown and unloved.”
Our only native crayfish exists largely in its own nocturnal, underwater world. However, this does not mean it is inconsequential. In fact, these hidden creatures play an important role in the functioning of the wider riverine ecosystem.
Emily Erith has made a fantastic documentary to shed light on this threatened species, in which she also sets out the steps we’re undertaking in partnership with the Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA) to save them from extinction.
