Full Job Description

Job Application Form

We are seeking an experienced full-time farm advisor to play a key role in delivering ‘Water Sensitive Farming’ – an ambitious water stewardship initiative delivering through projects including the WWF-UK & Coca-Cola Freshwater Partnership, WWF-UK and Tesco Partnership and Courtauld 2025 Water Sensitive Farming Initiative. The principal aim is to improve water quality and quantity, along with soil health and on-farm biodiversity by reducing the impacts of diffuse water pollution from agriculture at a river catchment-scale.

This will be achieved through a programme of bespoke, targeted farm advice and the delivery of interventions designed to reduce soil and water run-off and sediment input into watercourses, whilst improving farm biodiversity. The role will involve developing and supporting farmer relationships across the Broadland, North Norfolk, West Norfolk and CamEO catchments.

Delivery will be made through the catchment partnerships, and the successful candidate will work closely with, and be supported by, a range of catchment partners to plan events, address issues and discuss potential solutions. These include organisations that represent farmers such as farming businesses and the agricultural supply chain, along with various project funders.

The role requires someone who is self-motivated, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. A good knowledge and experience of local farming practices, agronomy, soil and water conservation is required. FACTS and BASIS Soil and Water qualifications are desirable.

The successful applicant will either be located at the Norfolk Rivers Trust Head Office or can be home-based, and will be required to undertake daily travel in rural locations. Therefore, the individual will need their own vehicle and a full driving licence.
