Silt traps on the River Wensum
Silt traps on the River Wensum
Three linked sediment traps have been installed on a farm near the Blackwater, a tributary that eventually feeds into the River Wensum (Special Area of Conservation), to improve water quality.
These traps will capture soil and water run-off from the agricultural land. A case study has been produced to highlight the socio-economic benefits that these silt traps can provide.
